“Lyme Time with the Tick Chicks” Episode 44: Clean your closet and shift your energy with wardrobe specialist Angela Howenstein

February 9, 2023 in Inspirations

Now don’t get me wrong. My closet is not always an accurate representation of where I am in my life today. But why shouldn’t it be? I am healthy and happy! Some of the clothes in my closet used to represent what was never to be: a body of my past self, lots of Covid sweats, super high heels that actually hurt my feet, and things that I wore when I didn’t feel well. Time to let it all go and live in the present!

If you are a Lyme warrior parent, this special episode of Lyme Time is just for you. Jody Hudson had an elite athlete daughter named Alex in the 5th grade when pains here and there began getting out of control. “Lyme Time with the Tick Chicks” Episode 37: NY Times Columnist Ross Douthat’s book The Deep Places: A Memoir of Illness and Recovery

June 15, 2022 in Inspirations, Managing Symptoms

I can’t say I’ve related to a memoir much more than that of Ross Douthat’s The Deep Places. As I turned the pages, I had an enormous surge of feeling as though he had the exact, mirrored journey as I did and if ONLY I could give this book to every person I know I would finally be understood. Douthat recently joined me on a podcast episode of Lyme Time and I enjoyed every second.

A Letter From Lymedisease.org

January 28, 2021 in Inspirations

In February 2020, advocates from throughout the US took part in the Center for Lyme Action’s first “fly-in” to Washington DC, to lobby for increased federal funding for Lyme disease. I was pleased and proud to participate. (And to get my cool CLA “identifier” neck scarf, shown in the accompanying photo.)
