I’ll take a Lyme with a side of Spacedust, please.

I spoke with ILADS co-founder Dr. Richard Horowitz about SO many things on the Lyme Time podcast, I don’t know where to begin! First and foremost, Dr. Horowitz’ name and Lyme disease go way back 30+ years. Dr. Richard Horowitz is a board-certified internist and medical director of the Hudson Valley Healing Arts Center, an integrative medical center specializing in the treatment of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. He has treated over 13,000 Lyme and TBD patients in the last 30 years and is one of the founding members and past president elect of ILADS. Dr Horowitz has published multiple peer-reviewed articles on effective diagnostic and treatment options for Lyme and co-infections and served as a member of the HHS Tick-borne Disease Working Group in 2017-2018. He was also co-chair of the HHS Tick-borne Co-infection subcommittee which gave recommendations to Congress on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of tick-borne illness, and he was recently elected to the NYS Department of Health Tick-borne Disease Working Group. For dedicating his life to helping those stricken with this devastating illness, he has been awarded the Humanitarian of the Year award by the Turn the Corner Foundation and awards from Project Lyme.

He’s been a leader in figuring out this disease and forcing the medical community to take a good look. Author of Why Can’t I Get Better? and How Can I Get Better?, Dr. Horowitz has developed a specific Lyme protocol and he even educates doctors from around the country and world how to implement it for their clients.

Take a listen as he goes into detail about Dapsone and how he stumbled upon a new way to administer it to his patients without an IV. He goes into great detail about different pathways to better health, and more specifically for those without Bartonella (an 8 week protocol). Learn how he combines western medicine with natural extracts in order to offer a full, integrative attack on Lyme disease. He also discusses his published peer reviewed work on Glutathione deficiency in Covid, which presents similarly to Lyme.

We end the talk with a healthy dose of fun, discussing his new book, Starseed R/Evolution The Awakening which is being RELEASED TODAY. Although Lymies will understand some of the inside jokes, this adventure book transcends various topics of huge global relevance with a tongue in cheek approach. It combines humor, a sci-fi twist, and the current climate change emergency into one satirical, yet invigorating read. I couldn’t put it down and I’m not a sci-fi girl! Honestly, the amount of passion he has for this topic shines through into this hysterical other-world take on our planet and provides hope through it all.

Add all of his books to your Lyme library. You’ll be glad you did!

Yours in Health,

Ali
