Protect your yard from disease-spreading ticks!
I recently had the opportunity to talk with Northwoods Tick Control, based in Cumberland Maine and found out some of the best ways to control ticks in the yard. It’s actually not difficult and actually fairly necessary if you have pets that go in and out, live near wooded areas, have leafy or wood piles, or are near wildlife.
Although I don’t live in a Lyme-heavy area at the lake, we do have wild turkeys, raccoons, squirrels, and deer that can carry the Lone Star tick, one of the most aggressive ticks known with nasty bacteria and co-infections. I was recently bit by one and my symptoms lasted the better part of a year.
