What is an easy way to protect my outdoor living space from ticks?
Did you know that a very common way for tick transmission in your yard is through “hitching rides” with mice? Mice carry an abundance of ticks around your grass, shrubs, leaves, wood piles, mulch, rock walls and flower beds.
An easy solution is the Thermacell Tick Control Tubes. Each biodegradable tube is filled with cotton which the mice carry back to their nests. This cotton is treated with Permethrin and kills the ticks in the nests. The mice do not die.
The box I get is filled with 48 tubes and that covers 1 acre. That’s a full year’s coverage (24 tubes, twice a year). These tubes should be applied in spring and summer.
These tubes make me happy because they are biodegradable and very easy to place near the problem areas.
