Date me, baby!

Shakes are great on-the-go meals and an easy way to drink all your veggies.  I recently started adding a quarter of an avocado to my kale, apple, and raw turmeric shake to boost my healthy fats.  I love the simplicity of tossing what I have in my fridge into my Bullet blender and heading out the door.  Given the fact that my most challenging food group is salad (it never quite tastes the way I intended), I often decide to drink them instead!  As for my kids, they LOVE my famous “Date Shake.”

Ali's date shake

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz. Almond or Oat milk
  • a scoop of protein or collagen/peptide powder
  • 1 tablespoon almond or peanut butter
  • 4 or 5 dates
  •  ¼ cup wild blueberries
  •  a half-banana
  •  ½ cup ice

Instructions:

Blend it up for a special breakfast or mid-afternoon treat!
